Phonetic Contest 2010

On the 14th of April there were a traditional phonetic contest, held by the Chair of the International Communications. The students  of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd courses of the International Department took part in it.

The participants competed in following things:

  • skills of artistic and phonetically correct presentation of the poem or prose;
  • singing and acting in foreign languages.

During the contest our students were reciting poetry of such famous writers as George Gordon Byron, Rudyard Kipling, playing sketches from the works of  Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw, singing songs and making humorous dialogues and performances.

All the performances were thoroughly prepared, unique and unforgettable. They distinguished themselves in the author’s manner of implementation.

There were several nominations:

  • English poetry;
  • French poetry;
  • German poetry;
  • Sketches in foreign languages;
  • Songs in foreign languages.


  • “English Poetry”:
    • 1st place – Volkova Anastasiya, group 120;
    • 2nd place – Popov Ilya, group 335;
    • 3rd place – Chernyavskaya Polina, group 210;
  • “Best song in foreign language”:
    • 1st place – Genashvili Tamari, group 193;
    • 2nd place – Apostolova Nadezhda, group 191;
    • 3rd place – Zaynullin Artur, Vostrikova Ekaterina, group 206;
  • “Sketches in foreign language”:
    • 1st place  – group 120, 180 (4th subgroup);
    • 2nd place – groups 120, 180 (1st subgroup) and groups 120, 180 (2nd subgroup);
  • “French Poetry”:
    • 1st place – Lototskaya Natalya, group 365;
    • 2nd place –  Dobrodeyeva Darya, group 365;
    • 3rd place – Anisimova Margarita and Fairushina Evgeniya, group 250;
  • “German Poetry”:
    • 1st place – Popov Ilya, group 335;
    • 2nd place – Tsimer Anna, group 335;

Roman Andreyev and Artur Zaynullin (group 270) have got an award of audience’s sympathy for beautifully performed song «Can’t help falling in love».

All the winners were rewarded with the diplomas and prizes.

The Chair of the International Communications expressed its special thanks to the hosts of the contest – Julia Ryavkina and Vera Ilkina (group 420) and to the audience, supporting and encouraging the competitors.
